AFTER DATING FOR SOME time, Jack and Emma were deeply in love. When they were together, they enjoyed discussing their days and engaging in activities they both found enjoyable. They came across a study one day that showed the brain activity patterns that romantically involved couples share. To see if their brains were truly in sync, they decided to participate in the experiment.

AS THEY SAT DOWN IN front of the EEG machines, the researchers informed the participants that they would ask them to perform a few tasks while their brain activity was being recorded. Jack and Emma looked at each other as they both felt anxious and afraid of what lay ahead.

The first task involved watching a lighthearted video. They both started laughing at the same time as they watched. The brain activity patterns in Emma and Jack were startlingly similar, as the scientists discovered when they compared the EEG machine readings. They both seemed to be experiencing the same thing at the same time.

WOW, THAT’S INCREDIBLE. Emma yelled.
