¿Qué puedo decirles? Soy gitana, o al menos el cartel de fuera de mi tienda lo dice. ADIVINACION GITANA - SOLO CON CITA PREVIA O SIN CITA PREVIA, PREGÚNTANOS POR NUESTRO ESPECIAL PARA LOS DÍAS DE LLUVIA.

Esa es una señal. Hay otro en el poste de luz fuera de mi escaparate. Le dice a cualquiera que le importe leer que JESUCRISTO SALVA DE TODOS LOS PECADOS. ORA A JESÚS AHORA. OBEDECER LA BIBLIA.

Eso es tan directo como un instructor de perforación marina. No lo llaman Ejército de Salvación por nada. Una Cosa Nostra de brazo fuerte paissano, con bíceps del tamaño de bolas de bolos y tatuajes en cada brazo que leía MUDDER y MURDER no podía ser ni la mitad de explícita.

Hay una canasta llena de tramos que brotan de debajo del letrero. La cesta se rellena cada dos semanas. No sé quién lo rellena. Nunca he visto a nadie acercarse a la canasta.

Tal vez se rellena por la noche. Tal vez los tractos procrean espontáneamente. Tal vez haya una imprenta miniaturizada instalada dentro del poste de luz.

Cosas más extrañas han pasado.

Nunca veo a nadie leyendo ninguno de los tratados. Creo que los borrachos los usan para sonarse la nariz cuando hace frío.

Debajo de la cesta el motivo continúa - MUERTE, JUICIO, ETERNIDAD, CIELO O INFIERNO, USTED DECIDE.
