119. [The Ice Child] by [[Camilla Lackberg]]; (4*)When a young girl goes missing and turns up with horrible injuries the search is on to find the person who took her and others. The book moves at a fast pace. My only issue is that there are too many characters and I'm not sure that some of these add to the story. I would have liked more description of things and less focus on the lives of the people in the town, all with some kind of past and relationship issues. But it is a style chosen by the author and I have to respect that.It was unique, easy to read, and well written, and for that I give it 4 stars.

The book from the very start is gross, the crime that has happened is absolutely gross, but writer's writing as always wins and I knew once I'm starting to read the story I wont be able to put it down, so be ready to be glued to the book until you reach the last page.Trying to write the review without any spoilers - by the ending which is sort of a guess or until I read the next book - I would live to give the book full 5 stars, but there were some unexplained parts that was important - how about the religious aspect and events around it, how the system actually worked..Yes, the very final ending - brilliant! The book was interesting, gross, but interesting, how one by one and mixed up the plot takes place finding more characters and their roles in the story. The book is about finding who are behind copy cat gross woman/girl torture killer and finding new leads for Erika's next book she is about to write and is stuck. The book is going to be based on true crime and there is still so much mystery involved, not knowing anything for sure. Step by step she is about to find more clues and put the puzzle together.

Ein neues Buch von Camilla Läckberg. Das heißt für mich: Zimtschnecken backen, Kaffee kochen und mich mental nach Fjällbacka begeben! Es gibt so viele Krimiserien, in denen das Privatleben der Ermittler wichtig ist und sich weiterentwickelt, aber es gibt keine andere Serie, bei der jeder neue Band für mich eine Art Wiedersehen mit alten Freunden darstellt.Diesmal schreibt Erica Falck an einem neuen Buch. Dafür besucht sie Laila Kowalska regelmäßig im Gefängnis, die wegen Mordes an ihrem Mann 1975 verurteilt wurde. Erica hat das Gefühl, dass niemand Lailas wahre Geschichte kennt und will sie unbedingt herausfinden.Gleichzeitig erschüttert der Fall der 16-jährigen Victoria Fjällbacka: sie wurde entführt, konnte aber entkommen und starb auf der Flucht. Als offenbar wird, wie grausam der Täter sie zugerichtet hat und über Monate gequält haben muss, sind alle erschüttert, und Patrik Hedström und sein Team wollen den Fall unbedingt aufklären. Da es noch mehr vermisste Mädchen gibt, suchen sie Gemeinsamkeiten und das Motiv des Täters. Normalerweise stört es Patrik, wenn seine Frau Erica sich in seine Arbeit einmischt, aber diesmal kann er jede Hilfe gebrauchen und bald führt die Spur auch zu Laila…Nachdem ich vom letzten Band etwas enttäuscht war, hat mich "Die Schneelöwin" wieder überzeugt. Hier stimmt die Balance zwischen Ermittlungen und Privatleben sämtlicher Ermittler, die Rückblicke in die Vergangenheit fügen sich harmonisch ins Geschehen ein und die gesamte Atmosphäre ist nicht mehr so angespannt wie im vorherigen Buch. Verglichen mit allen anderen Bänden nimmt der eigentliche Fall hier viel mehr Raum ein als sonst und privat passiert diesmal nicht allzu viel.Den Fall baut Camilla Läckberg aber wie immer meisterlich auf und fügt am Ende mehrere Handlungsstränge gekonnt zusammen. Ich gebe zu: ihre Bücher sind alle nach demselben Schema geschrieben. Aber auch dieses Buch ist unterhaltsam, spannend, der Leser baut zu den Charakteren eine Beziehung auf – was will man mehr?Für mich kann diese Serie noch eine Weile so weitergehen…

The new story from Fjällbacka is as interesting and exciting as ever but unfortunately this is the one I've enjoyed the least. That's ok that in the 'small sleepy town' more and bloodier murder happening than in a metropolis because for example Miss Marple was somehow in the neighbourhood of murders all the time. But it's rather annoying and that the psychopath killer meets another psychopaths (whole generations of them!) wherever she goes in her life. And the final twist is really unnecessary and far fetched.
