Not only will this story teach readers how to play pickleball, it also has a surprise ending!

John Coburn was born into a family that eventually grew to seven brothers, eight sisters, and fifty-four nieces and nephews (one hundred and four in the next generation). They were raised in Hawaii, with all but one graduating from the same small high school in the quaint village of Kahuku, on the island of Oahu. His family is a true cosmopolitan mix of races, cultures, languages, careers, and history, giving John a wealth of experience to draw on and an imagination to match. He initially began his writing career with McGraw-Hill Publishing in the field of Mathematics, but his love of family and the joy and laughter they shared grew very strong over the years. He hopes that you will share this exuberance in these stories. I would like to thank my parents Karl and Lillian, for giving me the desire to write, a love of language, and an appreciation for many different cultures and traditions. I would also like to thank my sons and daughters, and my nieces and nephews, who worked hard at mastering other languages, who loved enlarging their understanding of the world, and who traveled to different countries long before me and brought home their enthusiasm. While it is indeed my hope that parents and children alike will enjoy and share these stories, even greater is the hope that they become inspired to know the beauty and appreciation of different languages and cultures.
