La Reina-Valera, también llamada Biblia de Casiodoro de Reina o Biblia del Oso, es una de las primeras traducciones de la Biblia al castellano. La obra fue hecha a partir de la traducción de los textos originales en hebreo y griego y fue publicada en Basilea, Suiza, el 28 de septiembre de 1569. Su traductor fue Casiodoro de Reina, religioso español convertido al protestantismo. Recibe el sobrenombre de Reina-Valera por haber hecho Cipriano de Valera la primera revisión de ella en 1602. La Reina-Valera tuvo amplia difusión durante la Reforma protestante del siglo XVI. Hoy en día, la Reina-Valera (con varias revisiones a través de los años) es una de las biblias en español más usadas por gran parte de las iglesias cristianas derivadas de la Reforma protestante (incluyendo las iglesias evangélicas), así como por otros grupos de fe cristiana, como la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, la Iglesia Ministerial, los Gedeones Internacionales y otros cristianos no denominacionales.

The main text chosen for the Old Testament is Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. A modern Public Domain Old Testament was used and minor improvements were made. The main text chosen for the New Testament is the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament, Fourth Edition (UBS4). A Public Domain modern English New Testament version which used the Byzantine Majority Greek text was used as a base text and was conformed to the United Bible Societies Greek text, except where noted.

The New Testament footnotes contain many comparisons of the United Bible Societies Greek text with the Majority and TR Greek, Latin Vulgate and Aramaic Peshitta.

It is hoped that this work will reach many, and the Good News of Jesus Christ will expand even further the kingdom of God. You may publish, copy, memorize, translate, quote, and use the New Heart English Bible freely without additional permission.

Introducción a Nuestra Biblia

Sin duda, la palabra de Dios es el texto más maravilloso y sorprendente dado a la humanidad a lo largo de todos los tiempos. Sólo un estudio profundo de ella puede descifrar sus secretos. Creemos que es fundamental comprender la naturaleza de Dios, no sólo en este tiempo y época, sino siempre. En la actualidad todo parece estar al revés, donde lo bueno es malo y lo malo es bueno. Nuestra dirección y brújula es saber que Dios escribió su palabra para resistir el paso del tiempo ya que la escribió proféticamente, viendo el fin desde el principio. ¿Cómo lo sabemos? Lo sabemos porque Él ha confirmado muchos de los acontecimientos que están sucediendo en el mundo y que han sucedido incluso dentro de nuestro corto tiempo de vida. Dios ha hablado y profetizado acerca de los acontecimientos mundiales en la Biblia y estas profecías son únicas. Usted no encontrará nada parecido a la Biblia en el planeta Tierra pues tiene una exactitud y precisión sorprendente. Pero a un nivel más pequeño, cada hombre y cada mujer necesita decidirse y hacer lo que Dios le dice. En ese momento es cuando vemos los signos y se obran maravillas, pues actuamos de acuerdo a la Palabra de Dios, la Biblia y ponemos toda nuestra confianza en ella. De hecho, está escrito que Jesucristo es el autor de nuestra fe y ¿qué más podríamos pedir? Personalmente, he visto cómo se han curado personas que tenían enfermedades incurables como el SIDA. A través de la autoridad que Jesús nos dio, he sacado demonios, he visto cómo el metal ha sido reemplazado por huesos verdaderos en un cuerpo. He liberado a personas de enfermedades pequeñas y de enfermedades terminales y puedo testimoniar el gran gozo que se experimenta después de haber peleado la batalla y haber ganado. Hay muchos testigos de los signos y maravillas que le sucederán a cualquiera que decida creer en Dios y que se atreva a caminar su camino. Sin duda, el cuerpo de Cristo está vivo y activo y Dios es bueno con sus hijos. Pero necesitamos prestar atención a su palabra y buscar el conocimiento que Él tiene para nosotros. El Espíritu Santo siempre confirmará la verdad que Jesucristo de Nazaret quiere compartir con nosotros.

Pero no hay que dar esto por sentado. Sin duda, la palabra de Dios puede profundizarse, probada, verificada y por lo tanto, reconocer que tiene un gran valor. Pero para que usted pueda incorporarla en su vida y ver la su realidad, se requiere fe. Una fe viva, no una fe muerta. Un latido a la vez, día tras día, alimentándose de la Palabra de Dios y disfrutando del fruto del Espíritu. Cuando le pedimos a Dios, cuando perseguimos la verdad que nos ha puesto delante, Él sin duda contestará a tiempo. No crea que lo llevará a ninguna parte, que no es así. Esto no es sólo un gong sin sentido, así como lo tienen muchos incrédulos, acompañado de bonitas historias de milagros y otras cosas. Esto no es así. Lo hemos visto una y otra vez. La verdad es singular y nuestro creador es el verdadero y el único YO SOY. No hay múltiples dioses aquí, eso es una mentira del diablo. Ni tampoco Dios es una entidad consciente inventada por todos los seres vivos. Tierra o Gaia, como muchos lo llaman, es una ficción y un cuento. Hemos tropezado, caído y visto la muerte a nuestro alrededor, pero nunca nos iluminó hasta que Jesucristo de Nazaret, vino y nos mostró la verdad y nada más que la verdad. Sin duda él es el camino, la verdad y la vida. A menos que una persona camine en ese camino de acuerdo con el conocimiento de Dios podrá encontrar la verdad, de lo contrario continuará caminando como sonámbulo hasta el final. Tal final sería muy triste. ¡Despierte y saboree la bondad de Dios y acérquese a Él y Él se acercará a usted! Y si usted ya ha despertado, pero aún camina con un poco de sueño: *luche* para no caer de nuevo en el sueño, busque al Padre con todo su corazón, mente y alma y esté atento al hacerlo. Aun así, debo admitir que no tengo idea de cómo Dios ha logrado organizar la Biblia de la manera como lo ha hecho. Desde mi propio intelecto, vi la Biblia como algo defectuoso, sin posibilidad de reparación y llena de cuentos de hadas. Pero eso fue antes de que yo recibiera a Jesucristo como mi Señor y Salvador y que experimentara el poder de Dios a través de un evangelista que tomó la Biblia literal. Los signos y maravillas no han parado desde entonces. No porque se trate de mí, sino porque Dios nunca cambia y Él nos ha mostrado claramente que Él quiere que todos nos salvemos. ¡Sin duda, esta es la mejor noticia que pude experimentar y recibir! Ame a su Dios con todo su corazón, con todas sus fuerzas y con todo lo que usted es y con seguridad podrá salir avante de lo que se le venga encima, no importa su tamaño o qué tan grave parezca. Dios busca su corazón, su atención y su afecto. Por medio de él, usted será capaz de vencer los deseos y los placeres de este mundo y vivir una vida de abundancia en la eternidad.

Por favor, perdóneme por ser tan directo y sencillo. Deseo sinceramente que cada uno de ustedes esté y camine en la bendición que Dios tiene para cada uno. Algunos de ustedes aún están caminando en lo que parece un desierto, pero recuerden que Dios castigará a los que ama. No porque nos odie, por el contrario, Él es nuestro Padre si se lo permitimos y Él siempre lo será siempre y cuando lo escuchemos y que demos algún fruto. Y también, a veces se necesita algún tiempo en el desierto. Aun así, por favor no tema, porque Dios con seguridad está a su lado cuando usted lo busca con todo su corazón. Sin duda, nada es imposible para nuestro Padre celestial. Si Él lo ha dicho, ¡se cumplirá! ¡Toda la gloria a Dios!

nhe No plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth. There was not a man to till the ground,

Génesis 2 :6

rev Mas subía de la tierra un vapor, que regaba toda la faz de la tierra.

nhe but a mist went up from the earth, and watered the whole surface of the ground.

rev Formó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre del polvo de la tierra, y alentó en su nariz soplo de vida; y fué el hombre en alma viviente.

nhe The LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

rev Y había Jehová Dios plantado un huerto en Edén al oriente, y puso allí al hombre que había formado.

nhe The LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

rev Y había Jehová Dios hecho nacer de la tierra todo árbol delicioso á la vista, y bueno para comer: también el árbol de vida en medio del huerto, y el árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal.

nhe Out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the middle of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

rev Y salía de Edén un río para regar el huerto, y de allí se repartía en cuatro ramales.

nhe A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four branches.

rev El nombre del uno era Pisón: éste es el que cerca toda la tierra de Havilah, donde hay oro:

nhe The name of the first is Pishon; this is the one which goes around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

rev Y el oro de aquella tierra es bueno: hay allí también bdelio y piedra cornerina.

nhe and the gold of that land is good. There is aromatic resin and the onyx stone.

rev El nombre del segundo río es Gihón: éste es el que rodea toda la tierra de Etiopía.

nhe The name of the second river is Gihon; it goes around the whole land of Cush.

Génesis 2 :14

rev Y el nombre del tercer río es Hiddekel: éste es el que va delante de Asiria. Y el cuarto río es el Eufrates.

nhe And the name of the third river is Hiddekel; this is the one which flows east of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Perath.

rev Tomó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre, y le puso en el huerto de Edén, para que lo labrara y lo guardase.

nhe The LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

nhe The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;

rev Mas del árbol de ciencia del bien y del mal no comerás de él; porque el día que de él comieres, morirás.

nhe but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that you eat of it you will surely die."

rev Y dijo Jehová Dios: No es bueno que el hombre esté solo; haréle ayuda idónea para él.

nhe The LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.

Génesis 2 :19

rev Formó, pues, Jehová Dios de la tierra toda bestia del campo, y toda ave de los cielos, y trájolas á Adam, para que viese cómo les había de llamar; y todo lo que Adam llamó á los animales vivientes, ese es su nombre.

nhe Out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.

rev Y puso Adam nombres á toda bestia y ave de los cielos y á todo animal del campo: mas para Adam no halló ayuda que estuviese idónea para él.

nhe The man gave names to all the livestock, and to all the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal of the field; but for man there was not found a helper suitable for him.

rev Y Jehová Dios hizo caer sueño sobre Adam, y se quedó dormido: entonces tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar;

nhe The LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

rev Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, hizo una mujer, y trájola al hombre.

nhe He made the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, into a woman, and brought her to the man.

rev Y dijo Adam: Esto es ahora hueso de mis huesos, y carne de mi carne: ésta será llamada Varona, porque del varón fué tomada.

nhe The man said, This at last is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called Woman, because this one was taken out of Man.

rev Por tanto, dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y allegarse ha á su mujer, y serán una sola carne.

nhe Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.

nhe They were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

rev EMPERO la serpiente era astuta, más que todos los animales del campo que Jehová Dios había hecho; la cual dijo á la mujer: ¿Conque Dios os ha dicho: No comáis de todo árbol del huerto?

nhe Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, Has God really said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'

rev Y la mujer respondió á la serpiente: Del fruto de los árboles del huerto comemos;

nhe The woman said to the serpent, "Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat,

rev Mas del fruto del árbol que está en medio del huerto dijo Dios: No comeréis de él, ni le tocaréis, porque no muráis.

nhe but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

rev Mas sabe Dios que el día que comiereis de él, serán abiertos vuestros ojos, y seréis como dioses sabiendo el bien y el mal.

nhe for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

rev Y vió la mujer que el árbol era bueno para comer, y que era agradable á los ojos, y árbol codiciable para alcanzar la sabiduría; y tomó de su fruto, y comió; y dió también á su marido, el cual comió así como ella.

nhe When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate; and she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.

rev Y fueron abiertos los ojos de entrambos, y conocieron que estaban desnudos: entonces cosieron hojas de higuera, y se hicieron delantales.

nhe The eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

rev Y oyeron la voz de Jehová Dios que se paseaba en el huerto al aire del día: y escondióse el hombre y su mujer de la presencia de Jehová Dios entre los árboles del huerto.

nhe They heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

rev Y llamó Jehová Dios al hombre, y le dijo: ¿Dónde estás tú?

nhe The LORD God called to the man, and said to him, Where are you?

rev Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo, porque estaba desnudo; y escondíme.

nhe The man said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

rev Y díjole: ¿Quién te enseñó que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol de que yo te mandé no comieses?

nhe God said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?

rev Y el hombre respondió: La mujer que me diste por compañera me dió del árbol, y yo comí.

nhe The man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.

Génesis 3 :13

rev Entonces Jehová Dios dijo á la mujer: ¿Qué es lo que has hecho? Y dijo la mujer: La serpiente me engañó, y comí.

nhe The LORD God said to the woman, What is this you have done? The woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.

Génesis 3 :14

rev Y Jehová Dios dijo á la serpiente: Por cuanto esto hiciste, maldita serás entre todas las bestias y entre todos los animales del campo; sobre tu pecho andarás, y polvo comerás todos los días de tu vida:

nhe The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

Génesis 3 :15

rev Y enemistad pondré entre ti y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y la simiente suya; ésta te herirá en la cabeza, y tú le herirás en el calcañar.

nhe I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel."

Génesis 3 :16

rev A la mujer dijo: Multiplicaré en gran manera tus dolores y tus preñeces; con dolor parirás los hijos; y á tu marido será tu deseo, y él se enseñoreará de ti.

nhe And to the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.

Génesis 3 :17

rev Y al hombre dijo: Por cuanto obedeciste á la voz de tu mujer, y comiste del árbol de que te mandé diciendo, No comerás de él; maldita será la tierra por amor de ti; con dolor comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida;

nhe To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.

rev Espinos y cardos te producirá, y comerás hierba del campo;

nhe Thorns also and thistles will it bring forth to you; and you will eat the plants of the field.

Génesis 3 :19

rev En el sudor de tu rostro comerás el pan hasta que vuelvas á la tierra; porque de ella fuiste tomado: pues polvo eres, y al polvo serás tornado.

nhe By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

rev Y llamó el hombre el nombre de su mujer, Eva; por cuanto ella era madre de todos lo vivientes.

nhe The man called his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

Génesis 3 :21

rev Y Jehová Dios hizo al hombre y á su mujer túnicas de pieles, y vistiólos.

nhe The LORD God made coats of skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.

Génesis 3 :22

rev Y dijo Jehová Dios: He aquí el hombre es como uno de Nos sabiendo el bien y el mal: ahora, pues, porque no alargue su mano, y tome también del árbol de la vida, y coma, y viva para siempre:

nhe The LORD God said, Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he put forth his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever...

rev Y sacólo Jehová del huerto de Edén, para que labrase la tierra de que fué tomado.

nhe Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.

Génesis 3 :24

rev Echó, pues, fuera al hombre, y puso al oriente del huerto de Edén querubines, y una espada encendida que se revolvía á todos lados, para guardar el camino del árbol de la vida.

nhe So he drove out the man; and he placed Cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Génesis 4 :1

rev Y CONOCIO Adam á su mujer Eva, la cual concibió y parió á Caín, y dijo: Adquirido he varón por Jehová.

nhe The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, I have gotten a man with the LORD's help.

Génesis 4 :2

rev Y después parió á su hermano Abel. Y fué Abel pastor de ovejas, y Caín fué labrador de la tierra.

nhe Again she gave birth, to Cain's brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Génesis 4 :3

rev Y aconteció andando el tiempo, que Caín trajo del fruto de la tierra una ofrenda á Jehová.

nhe As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the ground.

Génesis 4 :4

rev Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de su grosura. Y miró Jehová con agrado á Abel y á su ofrenda;

nhe Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. The LORD respected Abel and his offering,

Génesis 4 :5

rev Mas no miró propicio á Caín y á la ofrenda suya. Y ensañóse Caín en gran manera, y decayó su semblante.

nhe but he did not respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.

Génesis 4 :6

rev Entonces Jehová dijo á Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado, y por qué se ha inmutado tu rostro?

nhe The LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?

Génesis 4 :7

rev Si bien hicieres, ¿no serás ensalzado? y si no hicieres bien, el pecado está á la puerta: con todo esto, á ti será su deseo, y tú te enseñorearás de él.

nhe If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you do not do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it."

Génesis 4 :8

rev Y habló Caín á su hermano Abel: y aconteció que estando ellos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra su hermano Abel, y le mató.

nhe Cain said to Abel, his brother, Let's go into the field. It happened when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.

Génesis 4 :9

rev Y Jehová dijo á Caín: ¿Dónde está Abel tu hermano? Y él respondió: No sé; ¿soy yo guarda de mi hermano?

nhe The LORD said to Cain, Where is Abel, your brother? He said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?

Génesis 4 :10

rev Y él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama á mí desde la tierra.

nhe The LORD said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.

Génesis 4 :11

rev Ahora pues, maldito seas tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir la sangre de tu hermano de tu mano:

nhe Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

Génesis 4 :12

rev Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá á dar su fuerza: errante y extranjero serás en la tierra.

nhe From now on, when you till the ground, it won't yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth."

Génesis 4 :13

rev Y dijo Caín á Jehová: Grande es mi iniquidad para ser perdonada.

nhe Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is greater than I can bear.

Génesis 4 :14

rev He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré errante y extranjero en la tierra; y sucederá que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.

nhe Behold, you have driven me out this day from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. It will happen that whoever finds me will kill me."

Génesis 4 :15

rev Y respondióle Jehová: Cierto que cualquiera que matare á Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso señal en Caín, para que no lo hiriese cualquiera que le hallara.

nhe The LORD said to him, Not so. Whoever kills Cain vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold. The LORD appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should strike him.

Génesis 4 :16

rev Y salió Caín de delante de Jehová, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.

nhe Cain went out from the LORD's presence, and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Génesis 4 :17

rev Y conoció Caín á su mujer, la cual concibió y parió á Henoch: y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Henoch.

nhe Cain had marital relations with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. He built a city and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

Génesis 4 :18

rev Y á Henoch nació Irad, é Irad engendró á Mehujael, y Mehujael engendró á Methusael, y Methusael engendró á Lamech.

nhe To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad became the father of Mehijael, and Mehijael became the father of Methushael, and Methushael became the father of Lamech.

Génesis 4 :19

rev Y tomó para sí Lamech dos mujeres; el nombre de la una fué Ada, y el nombre de la otra Zilla.

nhe Lamech took two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

Génesis 4 :20

rev Y Ada parió á Jabal, el cual fué padre de los que habitan en tiendas, y crían ganados.

nhe Adah gave birth to Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.

Génesis 4 :21

rev Y el nombre de su hermano fué Jubal, el cual fué padre de todos los que manejan arpa y órgano.

nhe His brother's name was Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.

Génesis 4 :22

rev Y Zilla también parió á Tubal-Caín, acicalador de toda obra de metal y de hierro: y la hermana de Tubal-Caín fué Naama.

nhe Zillah also gave birth to Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of bronze and iron. Tubal Cain's sister was Naamah.

Génesis 4 :23

rev Y dijo Lamech á sus mujeres: Ada y Zilla, oid mi voz; Mujeres de Lamech, escuchad mi dicho: Que varón mataré por mi herida, Y mancebo por mi golpe:

nhe Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, hear my voice. You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech, for I have slain a man for wounding me, a young man for bruising me.

Génesis 4 :24

rev Si siete veces será vengado Caín, Lamech en verdad setenta veces siete lo será.

nhe If Cain will be avenged seven times, truly Lamech seventy-seven times."

Génesis 4 :25

rev Y conoció de nuevo Adam á su mujer, la cual parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Seth: Porque Dios (dijo ella) me ha sustituído otra simiente en lugar de Abel, á quien mató Caín.

nhe Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for God has appointed me another child instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.

Génesis 4 :26

rev Y á Seth también le nació un hijo, y llamó su nombre Enós. Entonces los hombres comenzaron á llamarse del nombre de Jehová.

nhe There was also born a son to Seth, and he named him Enosh. This one began to call on the LORD's name.

Génesis 5 :1

rev ESTE es el libro de las generaciones de Adam. El día en que crió Dios al hombre, á la semejanza de Dios lo hizo;

nhe This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God's likeness.

Génesis 5 :2

rev Varón y hembra los crió; y los bendijo, y llamó el nombre de ellos Adam, el día en que fueron criados.

nhe He created them male and female, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Génesis 5 :3

rev Y vivió Adam ciento y treinta años, y engendró un hijo á su semejanza, conforme á su imagen, y llamó su nombre Seth.

nhe Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

rev Y fueron los días de Adam, después que engendró á Seth, ochocientos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.

nhe The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he became the father of sons and daughters.

nhe All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, then he died.

nhe Enoch walked with God after he became the father of Methuselah three hundred years, and fathered sons and daughters.

nhe All the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

nhe Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.

rev Y vivió Mathusalam ciento ochenta y siete años, y engendró á Lamech.

rev Fueron, pues, todos los días de Mathusalam, novecientos sesenta y nueve años; y murió.

rev Y llamó su nombre Noé, diciendo: Este nos aliviará de nuestras obras, y del tabajo de nuestras manos, á causa de la tierra que Jehová maldijo.

nhe and he named him Noah, saying, This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.

rev Y vivió Lamech, después que engendró á Noé, quinientos noventa y cinco años: y engendró hijos é hijas.

nhe Lamech lived after he became the father of Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and fathered sons and daughters.

Génesis 5 :31

rev Y fueron todos los días de Lamech setecientos setenta y siete años; y murió.

nhe All the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, then he died.

rev Y siendo Noé de quinientos años, engendró á Sem, Châm, y á Japhet.

rev Y ACAECIO que, cuando comenzaron los hombres á multiplicarse sobre la faz de la tierra, y les nacieron hijas,

nhe It happened, when men began to multiply on the surface of the ground, and daughters were born to them,

Génesis 6 :2

rev Viendo los hijos de Dios que las hijas de los hombres eran hermosas, tomáronse mujeres, escogiendo entre todas.

nhe that God's sons saw that men's daughters were beautiful, and they took for themselves wives of all that they chose.

Génesis 6 :3

rev Y dijo Jehová: No contenderá mi espíritu con el hombre para siempre, porque ciertamente él es carne: mas serán sus días ciento y veinte años.

nhe The LORD said, My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; yet will his days be one hundred twenty years.

Génesis 6 :4

rev Había gigantes en la tierra en aquellos días, y también después que entraron los hijos de Dios á las hijas de los hombres, y les engendraron hijos: éstos fueron los valientes que desde la antigüedad fueron varones de nombre.

nhe The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when God's sons came in to men's daughters. They bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

rev Y vió Jehová que la malicia de los hombres era mucha en la tierra, y que todo designio de los pensamientos del corazón de ellos era de continuo solamente el mal.

nhe The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

rev Y arrepintióse Jehová de haber hecho hombre en la tierra, y pesóle en su corazón.

nhe The LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

rev Y dijo Jehová: Raeré los hombres que he criado de sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y hasta el reptil y las aves del cielo: porque me arrepiento de haberlos hecho.

nhe The LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.

rev Empero Noé halló gracia en los ojos de Jehová.

nhe But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

Génesis 6 :9

rev Estas son las generaciones de Noé: Noé, varón justo, perfecto fué en sus generaciones; con Dios caminó Noé.

nhe This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.

rev Y engendró Noé tres hijos: á Sem, á Châm, y á Japhet.

nhe Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Génesis 6 :11

rev Y corrompióse la tierra delante de Dios, y estaba la tierra llena de violencia.

nhe The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Génesis 6 :12

rev Y miró Dios la tierra, y he aquí que estaba corrompida; porque toda carne había corrompido su camino sobre la tierra.

nhe God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

Génesis 6 :13

rev Y dijo Dios á Noé: El fin de toda carne ha venido delante de mí; porque la tierra está llena de violencia á causa de ellos; y he aquí que yo los destruiré con la tierra.

nhe God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Génesis 6 :14

rev Hazte un arca de madera de Gopher: harás aposentos en el arca y la embetunarás con brea por dentro y por fuera.

nhe Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch.

Génesis 6 :15

rev Y de esta manera la harás: de trescientos codos la longitud del arca, de cincuenta codos su anchura, y de treinta codos su altura.

nhe This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship will be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty
