After 16 episodes, we finally had an episode where our current news revolve around the so-called “streaming wars.” Before jumping into that, we paid our weekly visit to the UK Official Singles Chart and Spotify’s #newmusicfriday playlist (1:31). Kicking things off in this streaming episode, we spoke about Peacock, the latest player (for now) to arrive in this race (5:02). If Peacock is the newbie, our second segment is all about the leader and king of streaming, Netflix, and its reported Q2 earnings (17:44). Finally, we returned to chat about Quibi, but now focusing on its results following the end of its 90-day free trial (29:09). Since nothing really exciting came out last week, we went back for some classics of the 21st century and talked about Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and David Fincher’s Zodiac (39:00).
