When we talk about terroir in whisky, are we talking about a myth, a marketing strategy or a reality?
Terroir in whisky is one of those topics that generate debate every time someone mentions it. Among whisky lovers, there are advocates of each of the positions, but what is the truth of it all?
I do not intend to convince anyone whether terroir in whisky is a myth, a marketing strategy or a reality as in the case of wine. I will try to expose as objectively as possible the aspects that each one defends so that everyone can form their own opinion on the matter.
