As part of its business development strategy, the Forner Family, owners of the Marqués de Cáceres Wineries, chose the Ribera del Duero for its then-new venture some years ago. Armed with years of experience, and after an extensive search for the finest terrain, the family nailed it with its Bodegas Finca La Capilla.
According to its president, Cristina Forner of the Forner family (known mainly for its Rioja wines, but also the owner of a winery in the Rueda D.O.), this winery, “is the culmination of my family's winemaking journey. it is a dream that became reality in 2019 with the acquisition of these outstanding vineyards, located between the municipalities of La Horra, Anguix and Roa. in a way, with its high quatity, poor tertiary soils and the great diversity of the plots within its 60 hectares of vineyards, Finca La Capilla reminds me of our Grand Cru Classé in the Haut-Médoc”.
