Produced as an estate wine, using only Albariño grapes from vines growing in Finca Monte Alto, one of Fillaboa’s best, only 6.7 hectares of 28-year-old vines, located at 150 metres altitude with sandy soils from decomposed pebbly granite.

The wine reveals a very bright appearance, its yellow hue flecked with green. Intense nose, luscious ripe fruit, hints of apple, citrus and some tropical touches of pineapple. When swirled in the glass, its powerful complexity soon becomes apparent with toasted notes of dried fruit. On the palate, we are surprised by the wine’s acidity and charmed by its unctuousness. In other vintages, the wine has shown a minerality derived from the soil, and we are sure that, with a little more time in the bottle, the 2018 vintage will also reveal this quality that makes the wine so unique and the result of a very special terroir and microclimate.

Ripe fruit lingers among the retronasal aromas, creating the impression that they will go on forever. The wine stays the course, does not lose power, and shows itself to be very elegant, fresh and well-structured, with enormous ageing potential, allowing us to enjoy now or within the next 5 years.
