J. (Tom) Lehr is sensitive to the challenges faced by students struggling with identified and unidentified learning challenges. He served on innumerable teams tasked with evaluating students with exceptional needs and recommending accommodations. As a counselor and a classroom teacher, he was frequently in the position of supporting students experiencing the powerful feelings that can go along with exceptional educational needs.
Lehr earned a Master’s degree in Counseling. Currently retired, he has worked as a school counselor at the elementary school level through middle school/junior high. His classroom teaching experience spans middle school through college, including alternative education programs.
He uses his experience to weave lessons about the challenges of school into interesting adventures to help students facing challenges expect success. He also writes to help other students understand their peers with exceptional educational needs and challenges.ver menos
