Douglas J. Taber, DC is a 1998 graduate of New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree through the State University of NY at Fredonia. He has held Fellowship status with the American Academy of Integrative Medicine, the American Academy of Chiropractic Physicians, the American College of Spine Physicians, American Board of Disability Analysts, and the American Back Society.
He is Board Certified in Pain Management, Motor Vehicle Accident Trauma, and Disability Trauma through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and has achieved Diplomate status with the American Academy of Pain Management, the AAIM College of Physicians, and the American Academy of Spine Physicians. Dr Taber is a Certified Ergonomics Technician, Chiropractic Sports Injury Specialist, and Certified Chiropractic Sports Medicine Specialist.
Through the American Academy of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Taber holds Diplomate status with the College of Acupuncture & Neuromuscular Therapy, the College of Pain Management, and the College of Eastern Medicine. He is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of The Spine Journal, the official journal of the North American Spine Society (NASS), and has extensive lecturing experience as a Post-Graduate Faculty member of New York Chiropractic College. In addition, he has designed several online courses for post-graduate training for doctors in the areas of hip pain, shoulder disorders, and the use of injections for chronic pain management.
As a pioneer in comprehensive musculoskeletal and spine care, Dr. Taber has had the unique clinical experience of practicing chiropractic healthcare in a stand-alone practice as well as within an orthopedic group and currently in a hospital-based organization, United Health Services in the Southern Tier of New York (www.uhs.net).
With a writing and speaking style likened to an eclectic mix of Deepak Chopra, Mahmet Oz, and Tony Robbins, Dr. Taber has made TV and radio appearances and is regularly invited to present thought-provoking and entertaining lectures, presentations and continuing educational seminars to medical and chiropractic organizations, health care providers, hospitals, and clinics.
Dr. Taber is the prolific author of multiple books, including The Back Pain Solution: Unlocking the Spinal Code (2006), The Spinal Answer Exercise Program (2009), Spinal Decompression & Stabilization Protocol (2009), Overcoming Failed Back Surgery (2010), and Spinal Stabilization: A Functional Rehab Program (2010), which he co-authored with Douglas VanVorst, DC. His childrens’ book, Bommer Bronks: Adventures of a Baseball, was released in 2012. This “bring it to the people” approach has brought him acclaim as a 2011 International Book Award Winner for his book, The Neck Pain Solution: A Guided Healing Approach. His articles have been featured in such national magazines as Chiropractic Wellness & Fitness, Health & Wellness Magazine, The American Chiropractor, and Foot Levelers’ “Secrets of My Success” series.
