Margaret A. Pierson was born in Omaha, Nebraska in February of the year 1911, to Charles and Annette Anderson.
At the age of four, Margaret moved with her parents and siblings to a farm in Little Falls, Minnesota. Margaret spent her formative years in rural schools and in Little Falls city schools.
After graduating from high school, Margaret attended St. Cloud State University where she earned an associate degree in elementary education. She taught school for twenty-four years.
In 1940 Margaret married Arnold W. Pierson. Together they owned and operated The Pierson Granite Works in Little Falls, Minnesota until retirement.
Margaret is the mother of two children, Muriel P. Medina, Ph.D. of Syracuse, New York, and David A. Pierson, Ph.D. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
