Married to her longtime best friend, she now resides in New York where she is pursuing her studies at Stony Brook University. My memories of Haiti are bittersweet. That country has seen my laughter, my midnight tears, and nurtured my soul into becoming a strong spirited woman. The landscape in my novel is based on my fresh memories of the many places I visited during my childhood in Haiti: town of Jacmel, Rival beach, the peaceful breeze of Labadee, Port-Magot that quiet little town, the rivers where we carelessly bathe, the smell of coffee being grinded by neighbors up in the hills, and so many other places that color my writings. Over the years I have met many friends from different cultures. I learned with them and sometimes even immersed myself in their cultures for the thrill of new experiences. However, I feel so proud to have been born in such a beautiful, wealthy culture as Haiti chéri.ver menos
