I remember when I w...ver másMy name is Derrick Schofield. I was born January 5, 1979. I am the youngest child of Charles and Pauline McGraw and have lived in Chattanooga, TN my entire life. I love my city. I remember when I was attending Rivermont Elementary, there was a story writing contest. Out of the entire school my story was chosen. I believe that was the start of my interest in creative writing. From Rivermont, I was enrolled into the Red Bank School system. I graduated with honors in 1997. I was inspired to write the most by my English teachers. They saw something in me I did not see in myself at the time. Betty Woomer was the most inspirational teacher I ever had, giving me the drive to better myself. I also received great inspiration from working at Orange Grove Center. I learned no matter what has happened or will happen in life, dreams can become a reality. I have had a dream for many years of becoming a published author and, like many of the recipients at Orange Grove Center, my dream is now coming true.ver menos
