She earned her d...ver másDr. Kaley Bourgeois is a proud graduate of Portland, Oregon’s National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), the oldest naturopathic program in the United States. She earned her doctorate in under four years as a member of NUNM’s first accelerated program after completing a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Pacific University. Her desire to study and promote natural medicine started in early childhood through the guidance of her mother. Dr. Bourgeois was taught to pursue a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent illness and consider underlying causes before starting a medication. When Dr. Bourgeois later developed an extensive rash with no clear diagnosis and no improvement from prescription medications, she kept faith in what her mother taught. Despite specialists telling her foods were not the cause, she underwent an elimination diet and identified a clear trigger: dairy. Sometimes a simple answer does exist, and when it does not, there is still hope for change. When she isn’t seeing patients, Dr. Bourgeois can be found spending time with her husband and daughter at home in Oregon, running, or baking allergen-free treats that taste deceptively good.ver menos
