She obtained her Registered Nurse Diploma from the University of Virginia and her BSN from the University of Maryland. She is retired from nursing. She and her husband spend their time traveling and caring for their many animals. She is also an artist and enjoys painting in oils and water colors in her art studio, The Depot.
